April is National Pickleball Month! As pickleball fans, we thought it appropriate to share our love of the sport.
By now, it’s likely you’ve heard of pickleball. It’s often described as a combination of tennis, ping-pong and badminton. According to a 2022 report from the Sports & Fitness Industry Association, there are 4.8 million pickleball players, or “picklers,” in the United States and it is America’s fastest-growing sport for the second year in a row, increasing by 39.3%.
So why do we love pickleball? We enjoy getting in a workout with friends, having fun, good laughs, meeting new people, and a little friendly competition. We’ve even started packing our pickleball gear when we travel, as it’s easy to find a pickleball facilities across the country.
The sport can be enjoyed by all ages and skill levels – it’s easy for beginners to learn, but can develop into a fast-paced, competitive game. Even if you’ve never played before, we encourage you to give it a try. It’ll only cost you a couple of hours, a few bucks, and you might just find it’s the perfect game for you!
